Leading up to National School Bus Safety Week, the Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD) Transportation Department visited our Early Childhood Schools with their beloved mascot, Buster!
This cheerful mini-bus character has been touring district Pre-K centers to teach our youngest students the vital importance of bus safety. Buster is a fantastic reminder of the importance of school bus safety, and together we can raise awareness during National School Bus Safety Week from October 21 to 25.
Designed to connect with students, Buster brings learning to life through entertaining activities, songs, and storytelling. He helps instill essential safety habits, covering everything from how to board and exit the bus safely to understanding important bus signals. Buster is on a mission to ensure a safer transportation experience for all SBISD students.
“This initiative is a fantastic way to blend learning with fun,” said Wendy Hebert, director of the Transportation Department. “Buster not only adds excitement to the safety message but also reinforces vital skills that our students will carry with them for years to come.”
Kudos to the SBISD Transportation Department for its creative approach to fostering a culture of safety among our youngest community members. Buster’s journey serves as a timely reminder of the importance of bus safety, and we can’t wait to see the positive impact he will have on the kids.
We invite the entire SBISD community to join Buster in promoting safe practices for all bus riders. Let’s come together to make this week a celebration of safety and learning!
